Most hiccups i had were more related to software and driver installation.
Is it bad to have pc on carpet.
From what i ve seen my pc should be on a piece of wood.
Carpets need to be vacuumed on a regular basis to remove dirt and help keep it clean.
Of course if you have short carpet on your floor the pc may be able to sit on that carpet with plenty of airflow underneath.
It s bad enough if you re an adult walking barefoot on said carpet but for babies and toddlers who crawl around on the carpet and put their hands in their mouths it can be quite dangerous.
Thanks to all who helped solve this problem.
Carpet catches all the dust allergens and other air borne particles.
And your computer well it s a giant vacuum cleaner.
If you have pets high children use and lots of spills i would recommend hard surfaces.
Tips for safer flooring there are greener flooring choices available like bamboo cork and hardwood from a sustainably managed forest.
Have a good day.
Sure you can it s fine.
I took as many standard precautions as i could when it came to the build itself.
I m really glad my first pc build went relatively smooth.
But carpets are really good at trapping dust pet hair and all manner of other things.
If it is professionally cleaned on a regular basis then carpet is great.
It s bad even if air doesn t flow into or out of the case here however if your pc sinks into the carpet a bit heat can build up underneath due to the lack of airflow.
Thanks for all your opinions in this thread.
Can you put a pc tower on carpet.
An ex girlfriend of mine kept her computer right on the floor and when we moved from it hardwood floors to carpet her computer literally would not start while sitting on the carpet.
I slid a piece of cardboard under there and it was fine.

In the middle of my imaging week and found horrors lurking inside some of my lab pc s moral of the story do not put your towers on the floor.
